One thing that I found out very quickly is you can’t have enough light up toys that make sound when you have a baby. They love staring at light stand the more you can re-create the womb, the quicker you’ll be able to soothe and calm your baby. Mini Me was very colicky for the first 3 months of her life {I honestly have no idea how I survived it!}. We tried everything to keep her attention and to stop her crying from putting her in the bathroom with the fan on to driving around in the wee hours of the morning. So, with Sissy we were prepared!

However, I wanted a product that I could place on Sissy’s changing table to keep her attention. She literally SCREAMS when she’s getting changed and in the middle of the night….well that can awake the whole household! So we put the Lamaze Northern Lights Soother on the side of the changing table. While it took a few changings to get her to look that way, now she searches for the lights. Needless to say, the home remains quiet during changing time.

Being that Sissy just now turned a month old, once she gets a little older and sleeping in her crib {currently sleeping in a bassinet in Mommy and Daddy’s room so Momma doesn’t have to jump up in the middle of the night!} we’ll be placing the Lamaze Northern Lights Soother on her bed. After about 6 months of age I try to get the child to soothe themselves and fall asleep on their own rather than have Mommy rock to sleep every night. Lord knows Momma needs a break at the end of a long day {and a long hot shower!}.

I love the fact that the baby can turn on the Soother by simply pressing the Lady Bug. The other really super cool feature is that you can connect a MP3 player up and the lights will “dance” to the music…pretty cool, right?!? This is the first product I’ve ever had from Lamaze and will definitely be looking into other products that they sell. Lastly, I L.O.V.E. the fact that this has a cover on it, super easy to clean!

I’m very excited about the Soother and will recommend it to any parent. At just $45 (currently $31.70 with FREE shipping on Amazon!) this would make a great gift for the new baby or parents to be to unwrap this Christmas!
